Helder Machado

Helder Machado is the current owner and CEO of Machado Consulting. Prior to this, they worked in the Army National Guard for thirteen years. Helder served as Army Chief Information Officer / Director G6 from October 2013 to September 2019 and was responsible for the statewide management of information technology and operations within the Massachusetts Army National Guard. This included overseeing areas such as information management, cyber security, network operations, distance learning, visual information, publications, and mail handling. From January 2006 to December 2008, they served as Deputy Director MILPO and was the principal advisor to the Director of Military Personnel for all matters concerning human resource support for all assigned and attached personnel of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Helder was also responsible for supervising all strength management and strength distribution actions, managing Casualty Assistance and Casualty Notification Officers during the height of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and training, readiness, health and welfare of all Soldiers and the accomplishment of wartime missions.

Helder Machado has a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an MBA in Management from Fitchburg State University, and an AOC from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Helder also has an Advanced Joint Professional Military Education from the Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University in Military Joint Operations Planning and Strategy, and a Command and General Staff Officer from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Military Joint Operations Planning and Strategy. Finally, they have a certification from Sophos in Sophos Certified Sales Consultant, (ISC)² in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), International Association for Six Sigma Certification in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB), and CompTIA in CompTIA A+.
