Babak Raeisinia

Babak Raeisinia has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Babak is currently working at Machina Labs as the Co-Founder and Head of Applications & Partnerships since March 2022. Prior to this, they were the Co-Founder and CTO of Machina Labs from March 2019 to March 2022.

Before joining Machina Labs, Babak worked at NEOS as a Principal starting in June 2019. Babak also held a position at Alloyed as the US Business Development Manager / Senior Alloy Design Engineer from November 2017 to June 2019.

Babak's experience includes scientific roles as well. Babak worked at Novelis as the Lead Scientist from July 2017 to November 2017 and as a Senior Scientist - Materials & Modeling from October 2012 to July 2017. Babak also had a brief stint as a Visiting Scientist at Novelis Switzerland SA from November 2015 to February 2016.

Prior to their industry experience, Babak worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham from October 2010 to October 2012 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Virginia from December 2008 to June 2010.

Babak Raeisinia obtained their PhD in Materials Engineering from The University of British Columbia during the period of 2003 to 2008.
