Practice locations include Cambridge, Belmont, Watertown, Waltham, Somerville, Lexington, Arlington, Allston/Brighton. Newton, and Medford . MACIPA PCPs have approximately 250,000 patients enrolled in their practices. MACIPA’s accomplishments in controlling healthcare costs and improving quality are well known. MACIPA was chosen as one of the original participants in CMS’ Medicare Pioneer Contract and today participates in the Medicare Shared Savings’ Program. MACIPA was also selected as the first physician organization to participate in the Alternative Quality Contract. In conjunction with our physicians, MACIPA develops and manages programs in quality improvement, care management, population management, patient experience, health information exchange, and pharmacy. These initiatives lead to better health outcomes, reduction in hospital admissions, and better management of health care spending.
