Susan Karakashian-Simao

Interim Lead, Clinical Support Services at Mackenzie Health

Susan Karakashian-Simao has a strong background in pharmacy and medication management. Susan began their career in 2000 at Toronto East General Hospital, where they worked as a Staff Pharmacist in the Emergency Department and later became the Pharmacy Operations Manager. In 2006, they took on the role of PharmNet and ProCure Implementation Project Manager. After leaving the hospital in 2011, they joined Bayshore Specialty Rx as the Pharmacy Operations Manager before moving to Michael Garron Hospital in 2012 to serve as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager. Since 2013, Susan has been working at Mackenzie Health, where they initially served as the Pharmacy Manager before being promoted to Director of Pharmacy & Medication Management. Susan is currently the Interim Lead of Clinical Support Services.

Susan Karakashian-Simao earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the Australian Institute of Business from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Management and a Graduate Certificate in Management at the same institution in 2017. In 2000, Susan completed a Pharmacy Residency at the London Health Sciences Centre. Susan also holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree from the University of Toronto, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999.
