Chief Investment Officer, Equities at Mackenzie Investments

Lesley Marks, Senior Vice President, Investment Management is Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Equities for Mackenzie Investments. She oversees approximately 110 investment professionals who are involved in the day-to-day management of Mackenzie funds across the firm’s 11 equity boutiques. As CIO, Lesley is responsible for more than $65 billion of Mackenzie’s assets under management.

Lesley began her investment career as an equity research analyst in 1995. In 1998 she accepted the role of Vice President and Portfolio Manager, Canadian Equities at BMO Global Asset Management Canada, which she held for 15 years. Most recently, and prior to joining Mackenzie, she served as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Investment Management at BMO Private Wealth (Canada) as well as President and CEO of BMO Private Investment Counsel Inc.

Lesley is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of business and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. She is currently Vice Chair of the Crescent School Foundation board and sits on the advisory board of the Institute for Sustainable Finance.
