Aakarshan Mookim has extensive work experience in finance and management roles. Aakarshan started their career as a Graduate Trainee at Gati Limited in 2002. Aakarshan then worked at General Electric as part of their Corporate Audit Staff from 2005 to 2009. Following that, Aakarshan joined HSBC as an Operational Risk-SOX Manager, responsible for ensuring adherence to SOX requirements across Europe. Aakarshan then moved to NetAmbit Infosource & e-Services Pvt. Ltd. as Vice President and Financial Planning & Analysis Leader, where they were in charge of the company's P&L and establishing the FP&A function. Aakarshan further expanded their expertise at Agilent Technologies, serving in the Finance & Strategy role. Currently, they hold the position of India Finance Director/CFO at Macmillan Education India, where they are responsible for managing the business and commercial finance, leading planning and budgeting activities, and overseeing the Author Engagement Program.

Aakarshan Mookim's education history includes several degrees in finance and accounting. In 1987-1997, they attended St. Vincents High & Technical School, where they obtained an ICSE degree in Commerce. From 1997-1999, they studied at BIRLA's and received a CBSE degree in Commerce/Accounting. Aakarshan then pursued a B.Com degree in Accounting from the University of Calcutta from 1999-2002. Aakarshan continued their education at FORE School of Management, New Delhi from 2003-2004, earning a Masters in International Business with a specialization in Finance. In 2004-2005, they attended the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad for another MBA degree in Finance. In 2005, they briefly studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where they obtained an MBA degree in Finance. More recently, in 2019-2020, they completed a Certificate in International Financial Reporting, IFRS, IAS from ACCA. Aakarshan also holds a certification in "Being a Good Mentee" from LinkedIn, obtained in September 2019.
