Heather Southerland

Heather Southerland has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Heather began their career as a Research Assistant at Eastern Washington University in 2005 and then went on to work as a Graduate Student at Texas A&M University from 2007 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Sapling Learning as a Technology TA, Chemistry, where they worked until 2015. Heather then joined Macmillan Learning in 2015 as a Content Developer and later progressed to the role of Director of Content, Physical and Life Sciences in 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director of Content at Macmillan Learning starting from August 2021.

Heather Southerland completed their education in a chronological order. Heather first attended Eastern Washington University from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry. Following that, they pursued further studies at Texas A&M University from 2007 to 2013, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Inorganic Chemistry.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Heather Southerland has obtained several certifications. These include "Lead@ML" from Macmillan Learning, which they obtained in March 2022, and the "Insights Discovery Foundation" and "Insights Discovery Leadership" certifications from Macmillan Learning, both obtained in December 2021.
