Barbara Cohen

Barbara Cohen is an accomplished electronic music recording arts instructor at MacPhail Center for Music, specializing in vocals, composition, songwriting, and music production since October 2021. Barbara also serves as the Creative Director and Educator at Stomping Grounds Music, focusing on a streaming platform for online music education. As a film and television composer and singer-songwriter, Barbara has extensive experience composing, arranging, and producing music for various media while managing music budgets and overseeing postproduction. Previous roles include faculty instructor at Musicians Institute and composer at emotion studios, inc., as well as co-founding Brother Sun Sister Moon. Barbara holds a Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Theory and Composition from Musicians Institute along with education from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the University of Minnesota.
