Dr. Babak Azizzadeh received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and went on to obtain his medical degree and residency training in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery within the same institution, at the David Geffen School of Medicine of UCLA. He received his sub-specialty training in facial plastic & reconstructive surgery at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear, a Harvard Medical School institution, before returning to Los Angeles to practice. In addition to his private practice in Beverly Hills, he is on the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is among a handful of surgeons in the US who perform surgery to repair facial paralysis.
Dr. Azizzadeh is the founder and president of the FPBPF (Facial Paralysis & Bells Palsy Foundation), a non-profit organization committed to the treatment of individuals with facial paralysis and Bell’s palsy. He is co-director of a facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship through the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and co-chairman of the Cedars-Sinai Annual Advances in Multispecialty Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Symposium.
The author of five best-selling textbooks as well as hundreds of peer-reviewed articles, Dr. Azizzadeh continues to participate in his own research, as well as serves to guide MACRO as board member and investigator in several ongoing clinical trials.
