Dr. Douglas Hamilton is a dermatologist and physician-scientist who initially co-founded MACRO – along with Dr. Babak Azizzadeh – to facilitate and streamline his own clinical research endeavors. Dr. Hamilton graduated from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, and completed his internship at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He also completed residencies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Hamilton is an avid researcher, having published extensively within his field and serving as Principal Investigator (PI) across numerous FDA clinical trials. He was one of the first doctors in the United States to treat patients with Artefill® (now Bellafill®), going on to author the first published report on this therapy.
