Jim Karrels

Jim Karrels has a strong background in finance and biopharmaceuticals. Jim served as the Senior Vice President and CFO at MacroGenics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, from May 2008 onwards. Jim was responsible for generating promising product candidates and establishing strategic collaborations with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

In addition, Jim Karrels worked as the Executive Director of Finance at Jazz Pharmaceuticals from October 2005 to May 2008. Jim played a key role in investor relations and took part in the team that led the company's IPO in 2007.

Before that, Jim Karrels worked as the Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch from July 1989 to September 2002. During their tenure, they gained extensive experience in transactions and financial dealings in the healthcare industry, including IPOs, equity and debt financings, and M&A transactions.

Jim Karrels has a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Notre Dame, which they obtained from 1985 to 1989. Jim then pursued further education by attending the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from 1994 to 1996.
