Norman Rivera-Zeledon

Norman Rivera-Zeledon has extensive experience in technical design and pattern-making in the fashion industry. Norman started their career at Elie Tahari in 2003 as a Technical Designer. Norman then moved on to Unholy Matrimony, where they served as the Tech-Design Head, Fit Director, and Patternmaker. At Unholy Matrimony, they developed concepts, created production patterns, and selected fabrics and trims. In 2008, Norman joined Mad Engine/Mighty Fine Inc as the Patternroom/ Tech Design Manager. Norman managed a team of patternmakers, technical designers, cutters, and sample makers, ensuring that they met the standards of various brands. In 2017, Norman became the Director of Technical Design at Mad Engine Global, overseeing the end-to-end Technical Design team and leading the post-acquisition transition of Mighty Fine into Mad Engine. Norman'sresponsibilities included ensuring quality control, developing new systems, and meeting regulatory standards.

Norman Rivera-Zeledon attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College from 1996 to 2002, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Fashion/Apparel Design and Technology. From 1996 to 1998, they also attended East Los Angeles College, focusing on Fine Arts and French Language and Literature. In 1995, Norman studied Fashion/Apparel Design at Long Beach City College for one year. In 1992, they obtained a Certificate in Business Administration from Career Development Institute. Norman also holds additional certifications, including "The Three Pillars of Effective Communication" from LinkedIn (2023), "3D Apparel Design" from Browzwear University (2021), "Business Administration and Technology" from Career Development Institute, and "Computer Aided Design Systems Certification. Pattern Design (PDS)" from Gerber Technology, a Lectra Company.
