Mädchenflohmarkt (Meaning: Girls Fleamarket) was founded in 2012 by Peter Ambrozy, Maria Spilka and Thorsten Lückemeier. The Stuttgart-based company operates an online marketplace for used women's fashion. The platform offers not only a fashion-focused marketplace for private buyers and sellers, but also a so-called "conciergeservice". Mädchenflohmarkt offers the concierge service to users wanting to sell their goods on the platform, without listing their goods themselves. These sellers send their items to the Mädchenflohmarkt office, where they are photographed, listed and sold on the platform.Already after 4 months of operation the young start-up reached high virality through its facebook group (215k Fans) and German mass-media coverage and will continue its efforts in a social and curated shopping approach to women. A relaunch is planned for December 2012.
