James Dowthwaite has a diverse work experience in various industries. James started as a Planning Team Manager at Sport England from October 2004 to May 2006, where they managed the workload of planners and architects and led marketing projects. From May 2006 to March 2007, James worked as a Sous Chef at Brosh Restaurant, where they managed staff, controlled costs, and ensured kitchen sustainability. James then embarked on a freelance career as an Event Manager and Food Director from January 2007, delivering successful experiential events for brands and agencies. Some notable clients they worked with include AkzoNobel, Diageo, Samsung, and Manchester United FC. Finally, James took on a part-time role as a Development Lead and Board Member at Made For Drink, a premium bar snacks brand, from August 2016. In this role, they were responsible for creating and developing new products and contributing at the board level.
James Dowthwaite attended Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies from 1998 to 1999, where they obtained an NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality. Following that, from 1999 to 2002, they studied at The Manchester Metropolitan University and earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Geography.
