Craig J. Bass

Craig J. Bass has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.

Craig J. started their career in 2009 as the Owner of CraigBass.co.uk Bespoke Computing Services, providing IT consultancy services to home users and small businesses.

In 2010, they joined DevLS Ltd as the Director & Software Craftsman, overseeing the delivery of cloud SaaS solutions and managing software solutions for clients. Craig J. worked in this role until 2016.

During their time at DevLS Ltd, Craig also worked at Clear Books NL B.V. as a Lead Developer from 2014 to 2016, focusing on localizing and adapting products for the Netherlands market. Craig J. utilized Java, PHP, MySQL, and Redis for lean delivery and handled legal compliance.

Craig J. also worked at Clear Books plc from 2012 to 2016, initially as a Developer (Internship) where they contributed to PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and Erlang development projects. Craig J. later took on the role of an Agile Mentor, raising awareness about the benefits of Agile methodologies and implementing clean code practices within the organization.

In 2008, Craig worked as the IT & Systems Manager at Mayhew Properties, where they managed operational efficiency through IT systems and workflow tools.

Currently, Craig is working at Made Tech, where they have held various roles. Craig J. started as a Software Engineer in 2016 and progressed to become a Lead Software Engineer, Head of Learning, Principal Technologist, and most recently, a Principal Software Engineer. Craig J.'sresponsibilities have included leading teams, contributing to legacy system modernization projects, establishing the company's presence in the South West & Wales market, and owning the L&D strategy. Craig J. also has commercial and technical ownership of the software produced by their team.

Craig J. Bass pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science with a year in Industry from the University of Kent, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications. In December 2016, they earned the AWS Business Professional and AWS Technical Professional certifications from Amazon Web Services. Craig J. also became a Zend Certified Engineer (ZCE) in PHP 5.3 in June 2012, certified by Zend.
