Helena Wood has a diverse work experience in various design roles. Helena started as a Studio Intern at Rob Ryan in 2014, where they focused on quality control and assisting with silk-screen printing. In 2015, they worked as a Studio Intern at JANE CARR, supporting projects for London Fashion Week and managing social media content. In 2017, they became a Studio and Marketing Intern at J D'CRUZ LIMITED, researching marketing strategies and assisting with product orders. Helena then joined The Dune Group in 2017 as a JLP Buddy, where they developed sales strategies and created trade reports. In 2018, they worked as a Freelance Surface Pattern Designer at Sophie Hilton Designs, creating patterns and collaborating with the business owner. Helena continued their freelance work as a Surface Pattern Designer at Peaches Print Studio (formerly Harika Design Studio) from 2019 to 2021, contributing to sales through unique and desirable designs. In 2020, Helena briefly worked as a Textile Designer at FRYETT'S FABRICS LIMITED, designing prints and coordinating fabric development. Their most recent role was at Octave Agency in 2021, where they started as a Freelance Content Migrator before becoming a Junior Web Designer. At Octave Agency, Helena collaborated with senior designers and developers, applied UX design principles, and created accessible interfaces for various industries. Currently, they are a UX Designer at Made Tech since 2022.
Helena Wood attended Nottingham Trent University from 2013 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Fashion Accessories Design. In 2021, they enrolled at CareerFoundry and completed various courses in Information Technology, including UI Design for UX Designers and UX Design. Additionally, they also took an introductory course in UX Design at CareerFoundry in the same year.
