Mark Thomas

Mark Thomas has been the chief financial officer and vice president of Finance and Administration at Madison Area Technical College since 2014.

Thomas worked in the public and nonprofit sectors in Chicago and southwestern Michigan for more than 20 years as a chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, chief of staff, and budget director.

He has guest-lectured on public finance and administration at the University of Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology, and the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Thomas serves on the finance committee and executive board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County and is a trustee of the Wisconsin Investment Series Cooperative, a $1.5 billion nonprofit that provides investment fund options to local Wisconsin units of government. In 2017, he was grateful to receive the Outstanding Chief Business Officer of the Year award from the Community College Business Officers.
