Mitra Khazai serves as the Executive Director of the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix, making history as the first full-time executive director of the organization in nearly a century. Khazai holds various leadership roles including Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Arizona School Boards Association and Governing Board Member for the Madison Elementary School District, where responsibilities include participation in education policy creation and fiscal planning. As the Founder of Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, Khazai developed a transitional homeless shelter for families. Additionally, experience includes serving as Principal at Funding Source Advisors, Executive Director of the Phoenix Boys Choir, and Co-Chair of Madison Advocates, among other positions. Education is grounded in a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Northwestern University.

Founded in 1890, Madison School Elementary District has grown to eight schools with an enrollment of nearly 6,000 students in grades preschool through eighth.
