Don Semrad has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the Manager of a combined cycle cogeneration power plant at Madison Gas & Electric since July 2003, where responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, maintenance, budget, and outage planning. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Engineer at American Electric Power, where Don managed power plant control systems and compliance for emission monitoring systems. As a Technical Consultant at Pavilion Technologies, Don contributed to optimization software for power generation and co-invented a patented method for on-line optimization. Earlier career experience at Alliant Energy involved various engineering positions at a 1000 MW coal-fired power plant. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
