Scott Smith

Scott Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Scott has held leadership positions at Madison Gas and Electric since 2017, including Vice President of Business and Regulatory Strategy. Prior to that, they worked at Alliant Energy, where they served as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Regional Manager of Regulatory Affairs. Scott also gained experience in strategic communications as the Manager of Strategic Communications at Alliant Energy. Earlier in their career, they worked at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin as Chief of Staff and Administrator, Division of Water, Compliance, and Consumer Affairs. Scott also served as the Deputy Director at the Wisconsin Office of Federal/State Relations and Deputy Communications Director at the Office of Governor Tommy G. Thompson. Scott began their career as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Representative Steve Gunderson.

Scott Smith completed their BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, starting in 1989 and graduating in 1994. Scott then pursued further education at the Wisconsin School of Business, where they obtained an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management, General, from 2003 to 2005.
