Jeffrey Matthias, CFA, CAIA, CIPM, CFP® has a diverse range of work experience in the financial industry. Jeffrey began their career at Telephone & Data Systems, Inc. as a Financial Analyst, where they managed a $150 million investment portfolio and played a key role in outsourcing pension investment management. Jeffrey then moved on to American Family Insurance, where they served as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, responsible for managing ten taxable fixed income portfolios totaling $3.2 billion.

In 2008, Matthias joined the CFA Institute as the Director of Society Strategy & Design, where they co-led projects to identify best practices for society governance and developed guidelines and communication materials for society member service standards and funding.

Since 2011, Matthias has been with Madison Investment Advisors, first as a Vice President, Portfolio Strategist, and then as a Vice President, Portfolio Manager/Strategist. In these roles, they focused on developing and implementing competitive investment strategies for tax-exempt municipal bonds and allocated portfolios. Jeffrey was accountable for all aspects of the investment management process, including strategy development, credit research, security selection, portfolio construction, and risk management. Jeffrey also played a key role in managing client expectations and communicating the firm's fixed income strategies to financial advisors, institutions, foundations, endowments, and high net worth individuals.

Jeffrey Matthias, CFA, CAIA, CIPM, CFP® completed their education in a chronological order. Jeffrey obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, with a minor in Computer Science, from 1983 to 1987. Following that, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from 1990 to 1992.

In addition to their educational background, Jeffrey has also obtained several certifications. Jeffrey became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in September 1996 through the CFA Institute. In November 2013, they received the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) from the CFA Institute. In May 2019, they obtained the Alternative Investment Analyst Charter (CAIA Charter) from the CAIA Association.
