Paul Wiegard

Paul Wiegard has extensive experience in the film and television industry, starting with the founding of Madman Entertainment in 1996, where they served as the CEO and Co-Founder. Madman is a leading independent distribution and rights management company. Paul has also held positions such as Board Member at ACMI - Australian Centre for the Moving Image, President of the Australian Independent Distributors Association, and Co-Chair of the Australian International Documentary Conference. Wiegard is currently a Board Member at Screenrights, a licensing organization for secondary users of broadcast content. Paul has also founded DocPlay, a streaming platform for documentary films. Additionally, they have served as a Board Member at the Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association and as a Director at both Bang Packaging and Stationery and MADMAN PRINTING PTY LTD. Paul has also been a Board Director at the Melbourne International Film Festival.

Paul Wiegard obtained a Master's Degree in Screen Arts and Business from the Australian Film Television and Radio School in 2014-2015. Prior to that, they attended the University of Melbourne from 1988 to 1991, where they earned a B.Sc & B.A. degree.
