Giovanni Tafuri

Giovanni Tafuri currently serves as Senior Director of Market Access and Pricing for the International Region at Madrigal Pharmaceuticals since March 2025. Previously, Giovanni held multiple roles at Apellis Pharmaceuticals from May 2020 to March 2025, including Director of EU Market Access and Policy, ad interim Commercial Director for Italy and Greece, as well as International Market Access and Policy and Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy. Giovanni also worked as EUnetHTA Chief Scientific Officer at Zorginstituut Nederland from August 2018 to April 2020 and served as Senior HTA Officer at AIFA Agenzia Italiana del farmaco from February 2017 to August 2018, coordinating HTA activities. Giovanni’s early experience includes a position as National Expert on Secondment at the European Medicines Agency from February 2015 to January 2017. Giovanni holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation from Utrecht University and a Master’s degree in International Health Care Management, Economics, and Policy from SDA Bocconi.
