Niels Neergaard started their work experience in 1980 as a Manager of Sales & Credits at Dansk Håndværks Finansierings selskab, DHF. Niels then worked as a Key Account Manager at FIH Erhvervsbank A/S from 1982 to 1986. From 1986 to 1991, they served as the Head of Finance at Nellemann A/S. Neergaard then joined Electrolux, where they held various roles including Finance Director, Head of European Treasury, and European Director of Price & Revenue Management from 1996 to 2007. In 2008, they joined the Maersk Group as the Head of Business Development, followed by roles as the Head of Strategic Sourcing, Oil & Gas and Drilling, and Head of Category Management, Oil & Gas. From 2016 to 2017, they worked at Maersk Oil as the Chief Procurement Officer. Since 2017, Neergaard has been working at Maersk Supply Service as the Lead Strategy Advisor/Project Lead Offshore Wind and currently as the Business Development & Commercial Lead, Offshore Wind, focusing on bringing innovative solutions to the market and developing strategic partnerships.
Niels Neergaard's education history begins with their attendance at Kathedralskolen i Nykøbing Falster, where they completed their Upper Secondary School (Gymnasium) education from 1974 to 1977, focusing on Mathematics. Following this, they enrolled at Copenhagen Business School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration, which they completed from 1977 to 1980. Continuing their education at Copenhagen Business School, Neergaard pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Finance, Group Management, and Economics, which they successfully completed from 1980 to 1982.
