Toru Nishiyama

Toru Nishiyama has extensive experience in the maritime and logistics sector, notably serving as Managing Director and President of A.P. Moller - Maersk for North East Asia from October 2007 to March 2024. In this role, Nishiyama oversaw operations in Japan and Korea, including positions as Branch President for Maersk A/S Japan and President of Damco K.K. Previous roles included Sales Director for both North East Asia and Japan, where responsibilities spanned multiple sales channels across key locations. Nishiyama also contributed as Director of Business Change Authority, developing customer engagement methodologies, and as Director of Trade and Marketing, focusing on commercial budgeting and sales force guidance. Nishiyama initiated global key client sales growth as General Manager, increasing Japanese key client business significantly. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Law in International Politics from Keio University and completion of the Inspiring Maersk Leadership Training program at IMD.
