Mlungisi Mkhwanazi

Mlungisi Mkhwanazi has a strong work experience in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Mlungisi is currently serving as the Director of Project Operations at Maestro Technologies, Inc., a position they have held since May 2023. Before that, they worked as the Executive Director at Africa Utilities Technology Council from September 2017.

Prior to their role at the Africa Utilities Technology Council, Mlungisi worked at Eskom Telecommunications as the Capital Programme Manager from October 2008. Before this, they held various managerial roles at Eskom Telecomms, including Operations and Field Services Manager for the Gauteng region from September 2007 to September 2008, and Operations and Field Services Manager for the North West Region from January 2003 to August 2007.

Throughout their career, Mlungisi has displayed strong leadership skills and expertise in managing telecommunications networks, implementing projects, and ensuring employee safety and development. Mlungisi is dedicated to driving technological migration and the convergence of OT/IT in the utilities industry in Africa, and has extensive knowledge in areas such as cyber and physical security and radio spectrum.

Mlungisi Mkhwanazi completed their education in a chronological order. Mlungisi obtained a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (LC) from Mangosuthu Technikon, where they studied from 1994 to 1996. In 2002, they attended the University of Johannesburg for a Management Development Program, earning a certificate. Finally, Mlungisi pursued an MBA in Project Management at the University of the Free State from 2005 to 2007.
