Theresa Binz

Theresa Binz serves as the Manager of Radiation Therapy at Tawam Hospital since April 2021. Prior to this role, Theresa was a Project Expert with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from January 2017 to July 2023, focusing on clinical and didactic training in radiation therapy and oncology. As a specialized lecturer at Cape Peninsula University of Technology from April 2015 to March 2021, Theresa taught advanced dosimetry and radiation science, while also founding Planning for Africa to deliver radiation therapy planning services and training through workshops. Additional roles include Program Coordinator for the Access to Care Program in collaboration with VARIAN and notable positions in various hospitals as a Chief Radiation Therapist and Radiotherapist. Theresa holds a Master’s degree in Radiotherapy-Oncology and a BTech in Radiotherapy from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, among other qualifications in radiation science.
