Carlos Vina has a diverse background in robotics and software engineering. Carlos is currently working as a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Magazino GmbH since January 2022. Prior to that, from February 2020 to December 2020, they worked as a Robotics Software Engineer at Sherpa Mobile Robotics (SMR). Carlos also gained experience as an Innovation Engineer at Balyo from April 2018 to January 2020, where they developed software for autonomous mobile robots in logistics and material handling applications. Carlos holds a Ph.D. in Robotics from Sorbonne Université, where their research focused on laser-based sensor fusion for the tele-operation and control of mini-drones. Carlos also completed an internship at Pierre and Marie Curie University in 2013.
Carlos Vina's education history includes a range of academic achievements and professional certifications. From 2008 to 2014, they attended Universidad Simón Bolívar, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Robotics and Advanced Systems from Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers from 2012 to 2013. In 2014, Carlos Vina enrolled at Sorbonne Université and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics in 2017.
In addition to their formal education, Carlos Vina also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they completed a course on Introduction à la programmation orientée objet (en C++) from Coursera. Carlos expanded their knowledge further with a specialization in Algorithms from Coursera, which they obtained in November 2019. Additionally, Carlos Vina completed a course on Control of Mobile Robots from Coursera in March 2014.
During the summer of 2012, Carlos Vina also undertook a French language course for engineers at École spéciale des Travaux publics, du Bâtiment et de l'Industrie.
