Chris Akhavan has worked in the gaming industry since 2003, when they began as a Video Game Tester at TKO Software. In 2003, they also began working at Yahoo! as a Content Producer and Production Coordinator. In 2007, they moved to VideoEgg as a Strategic Partner Development. In 2009, they became a Manager of the Publisher Network at RockYou!. In 2010, they joined Tapjoy as SVP of Global Partnerships and helped lead the company's growth to 300+ employees and $120MM+ in revenue, resulting in a $400M acquisition by ironSource. In 2013, they became Chief Revenue Officer at Glu Mobile, helping lead a turnaround from a loss-making company to a profitable leader in mobile gaming, resulting in a $2.4B acquisition by EA. In 2021, they joined Electronic Arts (EA) as VP of EA Mobile and also began working as an Advisor at Forte. Currently, they are the Chief Gaming Officer at Magic Eden.

Chris Akhavan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2005, having started their studies there in 2002.
