Lipu Zhou

Lipu Zhou is a Senior Computer Vision Researcher/Engineer at Magic Leap since September 2019, specializing in augmented reality, large-scale mapping, localization, LiDAR SLAM, and 3D reconstruction. Prior to this role, Lipu served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University from September 2017 to January 2019, focusing on SLAM, sensor fusion, robotics, computer vision, and machine learning. Lipu also held positions as an Algorithm Expert at Alibaba.com in 2017, a Senior System Engineer at Qualcomm from May 2016 to June 2017, and an Applied Researcher at Microsoft between August 2015 and May 2016, where engagements included research in computer vision, robotics, data mining, and natural language processing. Lipu obtained a PhD in Computer Science from Tsinghua University (2009-2015), a Master's degree in Embedded System from Peking University (2006-2009), and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tianjin University (2001-2005).
