Avril Jiao

Avril Jiao has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and investment industries. Avril is currently working as the Co-Founder and COO of Magic Lifescience since March 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Investor at The 21 Fund, a seed fund investing in Stanford Graduate School of Business startups.

In 2020, Avril worked as a Digital Marketing Manager at Johnson & Johnson for a brief period. In 2019, they worked as a Healthcare Investor at ZhenFund, evaluating and sourcing deals in the healthcare sector in China.

Avril also has experience in portfolio and project management roles. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Pfizer as a Senior Manager, leading strategic assessments and cross-functional due diligence reviews. Prior to this, they worked at GSK as a Portfolio and Project Manager, managing the China cardiovascular portfolio and overseeing clinical trials and registration processes. Avril began their career at GSK as an R&D Process Engineer, where they made significant contributions to product throughput and received recognition for their work.

Avril Jiao has a diverse and impressive education history. Avril first pursued their A levels at Wimbledon High School GDST. After that, they attended Imperial College London, where they obtained both a Bachelor and Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering. During their time at Imperial College, Avril also achieved the United Kingdom Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

Avril's educational journey continued at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Avril is expected to complete this program in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Avril has obtained several certifications. Avril became a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute in July 2017. Avril also achieved Level 2 Awards on Wine and Spirit from the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) in September 2014, showcasing their expertise in the field.
