Steve Conolly

Founder and head of SAB at Magnetic Insight

Steve Conolly has a long and varied work experience. Steve began their career in 1990 as a Senior Research Associate at Stanford University, where they worked on MRI pulse sequences including selective RF pulses that were 2D adiabatic pulses, MTC pulses, and Variable-rate selective excitation (VRG or VERSE). In 2005, they began their current roles as Professor of Bioengineering and EECS at UC Berkeley, and Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Instruction at the UC Berkeley College of Engineering. In 2014, they founded and became head of the Scientific Advisory Board of Magnetic Insight Inc. Their group at UC Berkeley is pioneering a new imaging modality called Magnetic Particle Imaging. Steve has built four MPI scanners at UC Berkeley, making them the first in North America.

Steve Conolly attended Stanford University from 1982 to 1989, where they earned a MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering.
