David Weinkove has extensive work experience in the field of biotechnology and research. David began their career as an HFSP Fellow in the Plasterk lab at the Hubrecht Institute, Developmental Biology and Stem Cell Research in 1999. David then worked as a Postdoc in the Divecha lab at The Netherlands Cancer Institute from 2001 to 2004. In 2004, they joined UCL as a Senior Postdoc in the Gems Lab until 2008.
From 2008 to 2016, David Weinkove served as a Lecturer at Durham University, after which they became an Associate Professor, holding the position until the present. In 2018, they took on the role of CEO at Magnitude Biosciences Ltd, and later became the Chief Scientific Officer.
In addition to their industry positions, they have held leadership roles in organizations such as the British Society for Research on Ageing (BSRA) where they currently serve as the Chair. With a strong background in scientific research and a proven track record, David Weinkove brings valuable expertise to the biotechnology and aging communities.
David Weinkove received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences with a focus on Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. David then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry at UCL. David completed their PhD in 1999.
