Ben Loxton has an extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Ben started their career as an intern at Aerosonde in 2003. Later, they worked at RMIT University as a research engineer for seven years, during which they provided aerodynamic consultancy to various clients and also taught several subjects related to fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. In 2013, Ben founded aeroONE and served as a founder and aerodynamic specialist, offering consulting services in aerodynamics and machine learning to clients in various industries. Ben also provided strategic and technical advice to venture capital firms. In 2015, Ben joined Defence Science and Technology (DST) as an Aerospace Engineer. In this role, they led investigations on the impact of fluid structure interactions on acoustic signatures of maritime platforms and played a crucial role in the calibration and modernization of Australia's leading transonic wind tunnel. Finally, they joined magniX in 2019, initially as the Head of Test and later promoted as the Head of Testing and Aircraft Applications. Currently, they hold the position of VP Program - NASA EPFD at magniX.

Ben Loxton has a strong academic and professional background in the field of aerospace engineering. Ben began their education at Eltham College, where they completed their VCE degree from 1994 to 1999.

In 2000 and 2001, Ben attended RMIT University, where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Aerospace Engineering. This provided him with a solid foundation in their chosen field.

Continuing their studies at RMIT University, Ben pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) from 2002 to 2004. This degree further enhanced their knowledge and skillset in aerospace engineering.

Demonstrating their commitment to academic excellence, Ben then embarked on a challenging journey to obtain a Ph.D. in Engineering at RMIT University. Ben dedicated himself to this pursuit from 2005 to 2011, specializing in the aerospace field.

In addition to their formal education, Ben has also obtained several certifications and licenses that showcase their expertise and commitment to professional development. These include a Machine Learning certification from Stanford University on Coursera in 2018, an FAA Instrument Rating from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in 2016, a Commercial Pilots Licence from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in 2015, and a Private Pilots Licence from the same authority in 2012.

Furthermore, Ben has acquired several authorizations and certificates related to gliding from the Gliding Federation of Australia. These include certifications for sailplane composite and metal minor structural repair in 2008 and sailplane annual inspection and component replacement in 2006. Additionally, they obtained a glider pilot certificate in 2003, as well as authorizations for sailplane weight and balance in 2006.

In 2003, Ben also received a certification of training in CATIA V5 from CONCENTRIC Asia Pacific, further enhancing their technical skills.

Overall, Ben's education history and additional certifications demonstrate their commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of aerospace engineering.
