Ian Mcfarlane

Ian is a Principal at MKA who has led the design of multiple mid-rise and high-rise buildings ranging from residential and office to innovative mixed-use developments, such as Flower Mart in San Francisco. Ian’s portfolio also includes extensive experience in high seismic zones, having worked on multiple performance-based seismic design projects in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. He leads MKA’s Concrete Technical Specialist Team, and is active on national committees for ACI, BSSC, NIST, and CTBUH, developing codes and standards for Performance-Based Seismic Design.
