Lionel Van Obbergh has a diverse work experience in the engineering and sales fields. From 2008 to 2009, they served as a Summer Intern at EIFFAGE, working on the Schuman Josaphat project. In 2009, they joined TRACTEBEL - ENGIE GROUP as a Civil Works Engineer, where they held various roles including Site civil team leader, Civil Works Contract Manager, and contributing to studies for Nuclear Power Plants Long Term Operations. In 2014, Lionel joined Magotteaux as a Sales Engineer in Australasia, later becoming the Sales Manager for that region. Lionel then held the position of Head of Sales for Europe, Russia & CIS & North Africa before becoming the Head of Sales for North America in 2024.

Lionel Van Obbergh has a diverse education history. Lionel obtained a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Université catholique de Louvain from 2004 to 2009. In 2007 to 2008, they participated in an Erasmus program at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology for Civil Engineering. Continuing their education, they pursued an Advanced Master's degree in Management with a focus on Finance at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from 2010 to 2012. In 2018, Lionel engaged in an Executive Education program in the Emerging Leader Development Program at the Columbia Business School. Lastly, in 2023, they completed an Executive Education program in Transition to General Management at INSEAD.
