Maguire Agency
Independent agency dedicated to the best interest of our customers and our community. We have over 15 different insurance carriers which enables us to write almost any risk exposure. Our companies are all financially solid with excellent claim response. Maguire Agency has protected the livelihoods of individuals and families, corporations, and nonprofit and civic organizations since 1928, when Joseph Maguire founded the agency to represent State Farm in Minnesota. After Joseph’s passing, his sons, Bernard and Phil, took over the business and became independent insurance agents. In 1960, Charles E. Clysdale joined the agency and subsequently acquired the company after the retirement of the Maguire brothers. In 1977, the agency in its current form came into existence through the merger with another agency and the association of Wallace H. Russell. Matthew J. Clysdale, who joined the company in 1994 after starting his career with The St. Paul Companies, owns and leads the agency today, continuing its history as a local independently owned business. Through the years, Joseph Maguire’s founding philosophy hasn’t changed: People and companies deserve talented, knowledgeable professionals to advise them on managing risk.
