Thomas Neumann has extensive work experience in strategic purchasing and corporate purchasing in the automotive industry. Thomas has held various leadership roles at MAHLE and Robert Bosch GmbH.

At MAHLE, Thomas Neumann served as the Director of Corporate Purchasing Metal & Polymer, where they had global responsibility for a purchasing volume of EUR 2 billion and a team of 140 employees. Thomas was also a member of the Core Management of the Business Unit Mechatronics & Electronics. In this role, they focused on developing a global organization, implementing a transformation process to achieve cost improvements, and delivering strategic benefits for MAHLE's growth.

Prior to their role as Director, Thomas Neumann was the Head of Lead Buying Metal at MAHLE, with global responsibility for a purchasing volume of EUR 1.2 billion and a team of 80 employees. Thomas played a key role in developing and establishing a new global organization, leading it through a transformation process during the COVID-19 crisis, and achieving significant cost improvements and strategic benefits.

Before joining MAHLE, Thomas Neumann worked at Robert Bosch GmbH, where they held several roles within strategic purchasing. Thomas was a Product Owner leading an agile organization of 25 employees, implementing a "Product Cost Management" initiative with a focus on continuous cost reduction along the product value stream. Thomas also served as a Scrum Master and a Project Manager within the strategic purchasing department.

Thomas Neumann obtained an Executive MBA in International Management from ESB Business School, Reutlingen University, from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur degree in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, graduating between 2003 and 2008. In 2006, they also briefly studied at Nelson Mandela University, where they obtained a Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur degree in Business Engineering.
