Sebastian Illing

Sebastian Illing has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as the CTO at MailMaestro since 2023. Before that, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange from July 2022 to December 2022.

Sebastian's entrepreneurial skills are evident from their role as the Co-Founder and CIO of Alpaca Technology, Inc., a startup focused on assisting renters and landlords. Sebastian played a key role in managing the company's largest global network of housing rental groups on Facebook, utilizing proprietary algorithms and an AI assistant. Sebastian held this position from December 2017 to March 2022.

Prior to their entrepreneurial venture, Sebastian worked at Freie Universität Berlin as a Researcher and Tech Lead. In this role, they developed a central evaluation system for decadal climate predictions called "FREVA." Additionally, they programmed the web interface to access the system, which has been implemented internationally at various research institutes. Sebastian held this position from November 2012 to December 2018.

During the summer of 2018, Sebastian participated in the Lightspeed Venture Partners' Summer Fellowship, where they gained valuable resources, guidance, and connections to support their venture.

Sebastian's career started with WGcast GmbH, where they co-founded the company and served as the CTO from 2011 to 2017.
