John Porter

John Porter has a diverse work experience in communications and public affairs. John served as Vice President of System Communications and Public Affairs at MaineHealth, where they oversaw marketing and communication leaders at hospitals across the system. Prior to that, they were the CEO and President of the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, responsible for the organization's mission and management. John also founded their own strategic communications practice, John Porter Public Strategies, providing services such as media and government relations and campaign consulting. Earlier in their career, they held editorial and reporting roles at The Portland Press Herald, including Editorial Page Editor. John also served as the Vice President of The Newspaper Guild, Local 128, where they negotiated union contracts and coordinated an employee-sponsored bid for the newspaper.

John Porter has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Boston University.
