Scott Thistle

Scott Thistle is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications at MaineHousing since October 2021. With a strong background in journalism, Scott covered government and politics in Maine as a State Government and Politics Reporter for The Portland Press Herald from June 2016 to October 2021, and previously held the role of State Politics Editor at the Lewiston Sun Journal from June 2006 to June 2016. Earlier experience includes working as a Statehouse Reporter for the Duluth News Tribune and a dual role as Lift Services Foreman/Ski Patrol Volunteer at Sugarloaf/USA. Scott began a career in public service as a Morse Systems Operator in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1989. Education includes graduation from Oxford Hills High School.
