Brian Kauffman has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy industry. Brian'smost recent position was as the Director of Wholesale Market Development at Mainspring Energy, where they led a team in evaluating market access and interconnection for various energy technologies. Prior to this, they held leadership roles at Enel North America, including as a Director overseeing regulatory strategy for the PJM market. Brian has also worked as a Manager of Regulatory Affairs at Enel X North America, EnerNOC, and NRG Energy, where they focused on developing energy solutions for large customers and navigating regional electricity markets. Additionally, Brian has served as the Executive Director of the Keystone Energy Efficiency Alliance, advocating for energy policy and managing a team and budget. Brian has also held roles at Wolf Transition, Mercury Analytics, Yale University, and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Brian has a Master of Environmental Management degree and expertise in energy economics and policy.
Brian Kauffman completed their Master of Environmental Management degree in Energy Economics and Policy at Yale University from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Political Economy from Columbia University, Columbia College, where they attended from 2003 to 2007. In 2006, Brian also participated in a Semester in Madrid program focused on Spanish Language and Literature at Middlebury College. Additionally, they completed a summer program in Public Policy Analysis at the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. Brian's secondary education includes attending Strath Haven High School in Wallingford, PA, from 1999 to 2003, where they served as the Student Representative to the School Board. In 2002, they participated in the Keystone Boys State summer program at Penn State University and the Pennsylvania Governor's School for International Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
