Staffan Westerberg

Staffan Westerberg is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in program management, research and development, and process engineering within the renewable energy and semiconductor industries. Currently serving as Senior Director of Program Management at Mainspring Energy since October 2018, Staffan has previously held significant roles at SunPower Corporation from May 2010 to April 2018, including Manager of Cell and Module Reliability, where leadership in R&D facilitated advancements in solar cell reliability and efficiency. Contributions include spearheading a $3M government grant project and achieving a world-first 22% efficient module in production. Prior to SunPower, Staffan worked at Numonyx and Intel, focusing on process development for flash memory technology. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.Sc. in Material Science from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
