Akshika Wijesundara

Akshika Wijesundara, PhD, serves as the Lead Machine Learning Engineer at MainStreet Partners since December 2023 and also instructs a course on machine learning operations at Maven. At Taro (YC S22), Akshika leads paper reading sessions focused on the latest machine learning research. As Chief Technology Officer and Head of Machine Learning at Tilli since January 2023, Akshika provides strategic leadership in technology development. Additional roles include being an AI Advisory Board Member at 2U and a post-doctoral Machine Learning Engineer at King's College London. Previous experiences encompass consulting on data engineering and analytics at the National University of Singapore, leading data science initiatives at WSO2, and mentoring during Google Summer of Code with OpenMRS. Akshika's academic credentials include a Postdoc in Machine Learning from King's College London and a PhD in Computer Science from The Open University.
