Guido Baechler

Guido Baechler has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades in the biotechnology and medical diagnostics industries. Guido currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Mainz BioMed, a position they assumed in July 2021. Prior to this, Baechler was a Board Member of Chip Diagnostics, where they played a key role in the development of technologies and digital diagnostics for early cancer screening. Guido joined Chip Diagnostics in March 2020.

In 2019, Baechler founded Berkeley Life Science Advisors, a consulting firm that provides strategic counsel to life science companies in the diagnostic and medical technology sectors. Guido specializes in global growth strategies and the integration of transformative medical technologies.

Baechler's leadership skills are evident in their role as the Chairman of the Board at Telo Genomics, a position they have held since May 2019. Additionally, they have served as a Board Member of SummerBio since 2020 and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the company until February 2021. SummerBio is known for its innovative approach to high-volume RT-PCR testing.

Earlier in their career, Baechler held significant positions at Singulex, a company focused on immunodiagnostics and the development of the Singulex Clarity system. Guido served as the President and CEO from 2013 to 2019, and as the SVP Operations from 2008 to 2013.

Furthermore, Baechler had a successful tenure at Roche Molecular Systems, a global leader in diagnostic tests and blood screening products. Their roles at Roche Molecular Systems included VP Head of Program Management and Member of the Executive Team from 2004 to 2008, Business Development Executive from 2000 to 2004, and Research Leader from 1996 to 2000.

Baechler's career began in 1989 as a Senior Engineer at Roche Diagnostics Europe, specifically within Roche Diagnostics Switzerland. Guido contributed to the field of medical diagnostics before leaving in July 1994.

Guido Baechler completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Windisch, Switzerland from 1986 to 1989. In 2007, they pursued Executive Study at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they took courses related to organizational leadership at the London Business School in 2004. Guido also participated in MBA-level courses in organization and leadership, marketing, and leadership and management at the City University of Seattle in 1994.
