Gerhard Fettweis

Gerhard Fettweis is a prominent figure in the field of electrical engineering, currently serving as the Scientific Director and CEO of Barkhausen Institut since January 2018, focusing on creating trustworthy IoT platforms for the Tactile Internet. Fettweis has held significant advisory roles, including as a member of the Board of Advisors at digades GmbH and JENOPTIK, and as a member of the Board of Directors at National Instruments until October 2023. In academia, Fettweis has been a Vodafone Chair Professor at TU Dresden since 1994 and has contributed as a visiting professor at UC Berkeley. Prior to their current roles, Fettweis co-founded INRADIOS GmbH and served as a senior research scientist at ICSI, among other positions. Fettweis obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University between 1981 and 1990.
