Walter Wohlmuth

Walter Wohlmuth is an accomplished professional in the power electronics and semiconductor industries, currently serving as the Founder of Compound Semiconductor Electric since April 2020. As a member of the Band of Angels and the Board of Directors for SweGaN AB, Wohlmuth is actively involved in venture capital and high-performance GaN RF technology development. Previous roles include Senior Director at Vanguard International Semiconductor Company, where leadership focused on GaN power technology, and Vice President at Sino American Silicon Products Inc., emphasizing disruptive technologies in the GaN sector. Wohlmuth's extensive experience in both engineering and business development spans several companies, including Win Semiconductors Corp., Semprius, IQE, First Solar, and RFMD. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, along with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Engineering Physics from The University of British Columbia.
