Alex Zerkel

Alex Zerkel is a seasoned communication professional with extensive experience in sports media relations and public relations. Currently serving as Sr. Director of Communications for Major League Soccer since November 2021, Zerkel leads media outreach, manages crisis communication strategies, and has significantly enhanced the league's social media presence. Previous roles include Manager of Communications at Augusta National Golf Club, where Zerkel directed media operations for the Masters Tournament, and Football Communications Manager for the NFL, overseeing media access policies and event operations. Zerkel's career also features public relations positions with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cooper Holdings, Inc., and the Atlanta Falcons, complemented by a B.S.Ed. in Sports Management from The University of Georgia.
