Elena Bajada

Elena is a Managing Director within Major, Lindsey & Africa's EMEA In-House Counsel Practice. Based in London, Elena leads on senior-level mandates for a diverse client base throughout Europe, Middle East & Africa.

She places general counsel, assistant general counsel, heads of legal and compliance professionals into a variety of sectors including: energy & natural resources, media & technology, outsourcing & support services, pharmaceutical/healthcare, consumer goods, travel & leisure, property & construction, private equity/funds, insurance and investment banking. In her time at Major, Lindsey and Africa, Elena has undertaken mandates in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, UAE and the United Kingdom.

Elena is passionate about diversity and inclusion. She understands the benefit of maintaining a diverse workforce and that each search is a diversity search.

Born in the UK and raised in Malta, Elena has a passion for travel, literature, sport and politics; she also enjoys cooking and trying new foods. Elena regularly volunteers with children’s charities. Whilst completing her legal doctorate studies, she held the role of president of the Malta University Sports Club for three years and acted as head of delegation to the Maltese Team at the Universiades. She speaks English and Maltese and is also fluent in Italian.

Prior to joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Elena worked as a lawyer in a Maltese law firm. Her experience working in a law firm, in addition to her legal studies, incentivized her to enter the world of legal search, where she felt she could contribute not only due to her deep knowledge of the legal market but also through her desire to establish lasting relationships with clients and candidates.
