Stephen Springer

Stephen Springer is a Partner and a member of the Washington, D.C., Partner Practice Group. He has extensive experience placing law firm partners, senior government lawyers and practice groups in global and national firms as well as in select senior level in-house positions.

Stephen is a native Washingtonian. He lives in the Town of Somerset in Chevy Chase, Md., with his wife Caroline, who is the Director of Graduate Career Professional Development at Georgetown University Law Center, and their three children.

Stephen is a recognized expert on the Washington, D.C., legal market. For more than a decade, he has provided confidential and invaluable counsel to partners and law firms in connection with numerous, high-profile individual and group partner placements. Over the years, he has also placed senior lawyers in academic institutions, foundations, financial institutions and private and publically traded companies. Stephen's extensive experience in all aspects of the recruiting process, his tenure as a practicing lawyer and his dedication to building long-term and consultative relationships with candidates and firms has led to a remarkable track record of success. This is evidenced by a long list of former candidates who have assumed leadership positions at their new firms and have built thriving practices as a result of making timely and informed strategic moves.

Prior to becoming a recruiter, Stephen was an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Jones Day. His practice focused on labor and employment litigation and counseling. Earlier in his legal career, he was a commercial litigation associate at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore, Md., and Washington, D.C. Before entering law school, Stephen served in the Office of Independent Counsel Lawrence E. Walsh during the Iran-Contra investigation.
